CAS(E) THIS SKETCH!

Tuesday 23 January 2018

Today’s card is inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #255, a sketch challenge. I loved the simplicity of this sketch and decided to break out my products from the new "True Gentleman" Suite. I often struggle with male cards but the new "True Gentleman" Suite in the Stampin' Up!® 2018 Occasions Catalogue makes creating male cards a breeze.

 .
The True Gentleman Designer Series Paper is a great base for this card and I've picked out three of the colours, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy and Tranquil Tide.

I've stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy, cut it out using the co-ordinating Tailored Tag Punch then stamped the moustache and triangular stamp to the top and bottom.

I've cut a mat to go around the punch in Tranquil Tide and adhered it to the card using dimensionals - these always seem to add a little pop to any card!

Then a strip of DSP on the insert tied up with Linen Thread finishes up the inside.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card.

CASEING THE CATTY #162 SWEET SOIREE

Sunday 21 January 2018

Hello and welcome to this week's CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week we are CASEing the Sweet Soiree Suite on pages 10-14.

This is a gorgeous suite full of pretty colours, designs and accessories.

For this week's CASE I've picked the Marina Mist floral card on the right hand side.

The card in the catalogue was made using the Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit and as I don't yet have this kit I had to improvise. So starting from the base up here's what I used:

  • The scalloped edge used the Scalloped Velvet Ribbon - I used a thinlits die from the Petals & More Thinlits Die. I had to play around with this to keep it in a continual strip. I then added the Silver Mini Sequin Trim and Silver Baker's Twine;
  • I didn't have a stamp that I liked as much to create the sprigs stamped in Versamark on the card base so I cut some in vellum from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies;
  • the flowers have been fussy cut from the Sweet Soirée Specialty Designer Series Paper; and
  • the sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set - this is one of my favourite sets!
It was a bit fiddly doing it this way but I got there in the end! I'll definitely be adding that Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit to my next order!

STAMPIN' DREAMS BLOG HOP

Thursday 18 January 2018

Hello and welcome to the latest Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Angela Meiritz-Reid from Christchurch, New Zealand. If you are hopping with us today you may have arrived from the fabulous Jessie Holton  or if you are just starting here there's a list at the end of this post to continue on the hop. I hope you enjoy my project which showcases our latest theme of "Love".

The card base is one from the Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes set. They make a great base, come in a lovely selection of colours with co-ordinating envelopes and, of course, are one of the Sale•A•Bration items being offered for FREE.

The hearts are from the Heart Happiness stamp set and the sentiment is from the Petal Palette stamp set. The embellishments I've used are a piece of Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon, Silver Metallic Thread, Silver Baker's Twine and a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

This heart has been silver embossed and coloured with an aqua painter and ink from the Classic Stampin' Pad colours Calypso Coral, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Daffodil Delight.
Make sure you check out the 2018 Occasions Catalogue and Sale•A•Bration Brochure - they are full of lots of gorgeous new products.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope the project you've seen here has inspired you and brightened your day. Please make your way around the hop - you won't want to miss any!

PETAL PASSION FOR FUSION CARD CHALLENGE

Tuesday 16 January 2018

Today I'm playing along with this sketch challenge over at the Fusion Card Challenge Blog. I'm loving the holidays, less pressure and more time to craft!

For my card I went with the sketch on the left.

As a Display Stamper for Stampin' Up!® in Auckland last year at our On Stage event I was lucky to receive the Petal Palette stamp set to create products to showcase. It's a great set with lots of gorgeous images, a range of sentiments and a selection of co-ordinating thinlits.

The embossing folder is one of two in the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders set. I love it here embossed in the Pool Party cardstock.

Thank You has been stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. The frame around the Thank You is one in the Thinlits Dies set I've just shortened it!

The floral image has been stamped with Basic Black ink onto Shimmery White cardstock and coloured using Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red ink and an Aqua Painter. I've then run my Wink of Stella brush over the image. I've also used the Silver Mini Sequin Trim, Silver Metallic Thread and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to create my card.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you have a great day!

CASEING THE CATTY - CTC161 SALE•A•BRATION

Sunday 14 January 2018

Hello and welcome to this week's CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week we are CASEing the Sale•A•Bration Brochure. Oh how I love this time of year - lots of free products and three different ways to earn them! Plus it's summer time here in the southern hemisphere so no school and I've taken some time off work!

The Sale•A•Bration Brochure has lots of new inspiration to CASE and I'm looking forward to sharing these with you.

I've chosen to CASE the tag and jar on page 2 of the SAB brochure. Who doesn't like a jar full of sweets?

I thought these would look cute at my up-coming January Occasions and Sale•A•Bration events - I'll just need to fill them up with sweets again!!!

A strip of the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper along the bottom, a pineapple stamped and punched out using the Fruit Basket Bundle and stuck on a Stitched Framelit Circle, then a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits in Daffodil Delight and "hello" stamped in Basic Black create this little tag.

All tied together with Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine and Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

We would love you to join us with your CASE this week, using our Facebook group. Click on the image below to go there. For the first time you'll need to click on the "Join Group" button at the top. After you're added you can post your creation and you don't need to have a blog.

OSAT SALE•A•BRATE THE OCCASION BLOG HOP

Thursday 11 January 2018

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to be participating in my first hop with the OSAT team. You may have arrived here from Dani Dziama's blog or if you have just started, you can navigate through the hop by clicking the Next button at the bottom of this post.

For my project I've chosen to use the Sale•A•Bration Party Pandas stamp set and have teamed it up with the Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalogue.

This stamp set is going to be such a hit as it seems everyone loves pandas!

This image only comes with one balloon so I stamped an extra one and added it to his little fist! The Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins are definitely one of my favourite embellishments from the Occasions catalogue. The Lemon Lime Twist one co-ordinates with the Ticket Tear Border. I've also added a couple of the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

And a little more Ticket Tear Border inside!

And here I've added the little panda to a coaster. To protect the image I've coated it in Mod Podge.

To continue along the hop please click on the next button below which will take you to my lovely and talented friend Jenny Hall.

CAS(E) THIS SKETCH!

Tuesday 9 January 2018

While it's the school holidays here in New Zealand I'm making the most of a little extra time to play along with some different challenges. Today I'm playing along with this sketch challenge over at CAS(E) this Sketch.

I love a great sketch and this one is no exception.

For this card I've cut up one of the card bases from the Perennial Birthday Project Kit and added it to a Calypso Coral card base along with a Polka Dot Basics embossed piece at the top. I've wrapped a piece of Flirty Flamingo Baker's Twine around the join and topped it with flowers I've cut out from the printed die-cut accents - also from the Perennial Birthday Project Kit. I know some people will be hyper-ventilating just thinking about cutting these but it really is okay!

Happy Birthday is from the co-ordinating stamp set for this kit - Perennial Birthday and is stamped in Night of Navy. To cut around the Happy Birthday I've used a framelit from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies, I've just made it smaller.

A little bit of stamping in the middle with a leftover flower added and some more Baker's Twine around the base.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back later this week with a couple of projects for a new hop I've been asked to join. I look forward to sharing that exciting news with you.

Have a great week!
